Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, along with child protection authorities, have stepped up efforts to prevent child trafficking through railway stations in Kerala. A recent operation involved the rescue of nine minor boys at Ernakulam South railway station, following which authorities launched additional checks on selected long-distance trains and railway stations. The initiative aims to identify vulnerable children, ensure their safety, and prevent illegal movement and exploitation.

Heavy monsoon rainfall has affected parts of Palakkad, with authorities monitoring weather conditions and advising residents to remain cautious. The India Meteorological Department has issued rainfall warnings for Kerala during periods of intense monsoon activity, with the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in some areas. Residents are advised to follow official weather and local administration updates, particularly in areas prone to waterlogging and other rain-related disruptions.

A tiger sighting near Mangalam Dam in Palakkad has raised concern among local residents. Forest officials have increased monitoring in the area and are tracking the animal’s movements. People have been advised to remain cautious and avoid entering forested areas near the dam while monitoring efforts continue.
